How it works

  1. Step 1

    Start with the full roster

All 44 heroes are preloaded in the pool below the tiers. Add any hero Valve releases later with the add field.

  2. Step 2

    Drag heroes into tiers

Drag a hero into S, A, B, C or D – or tap a hero, then tap a tier. Decide first what the list measures: overall strength, laning, late game or your own comfort picks.

  3. Step 3

    Title it and share

Rename the list (for example "Deadlock – City Never Sleeps, Oct 2026"), then download it as a PNG image to share with your team or community.

Rank every Deadlock hero in one place

Deadlock is Valve's 6v6 hero shooter with MOBA-style lanes, souls and item shops. With 44 heroes after the City Never Sleeps update, a tier list is the quickest way to show which picks you trust. This maker starts with the full roster so you can drag heroes into tiers right away, rename the list and download it as an image.

How to rank Deadlock heroes

Pick one question before you start, because a hero can be great at one job and weak at another. Lane phase: who wins trades, secures last hits and denies souls early? Late game: who scales hardest once items are bought, and who takes over fights at the Patron? Team value: who brings stuns, healing, mobility or pick potential the lineup needs? Ease of play also matters – a mechanically demanding hero may belong higher for experienced players than for newcomers. If two questions matter to you, make two lists instead of mixing them.

The Deadlock hero roster in October 2026

Before City Never Sleeps the roster had 38 heroes, including the six that arrived in the Old Gods, New Blood rollout earlier in 2026: Rem, Graves, Silver, Venator, Celeste and Apollo. City Never Sleeps (September 29, 2026) adds six more: Rat King, Baba, Deadman Danny, Nurse Harrow, Solomon and Violet. Rat King was unlocked first on October 2. Players vote on the order of the rest in the pre-game lobby, with two heroes unlocking each week until October 20. All 44 are loaded in the maker, so you can rank the new heroes as they arrive.

How patches shift the Deadlock meta

Valve updates Deadlock often, and one patch can move a hero two tiers. Ability and item number changes are the obvious ones, but map changes matter too: City Never Sleeps overhauled the map, renamed the lanes and added Corrupted items from the Broker, which can favour different heroes than before. New heroes also tend to be over- or underrated in their first weeks while players learn them. Date your list, rebuild it after big updates, and treat placements for brand-new heroes as provisional.

Tips for sharing your tier list

Put the date and update name in the title so readers know which version you ranked. Say what the list measures – overall strength, solo queue, lane phase or beginner-friendliness – and roughly the skill level it reflects. Add one-line reasons for surprising placements, such as an S-tier support or a D-tier fan favourite, when you post it. The downloaded PNG of the board works well on Reddit, Discord and X. Separate lists for different questions start more useful discussions than one list that tries to cover everything.

Frequently asked questions

Who are the best heroes in Deadlock right now?

There is no official ranking, and the answer changes with every patch, your skill level and your team. After City Never Sleeps, the six new heroes and the map overhaul are still being figured out, so recent community lists are best read as early opinions. Use this maker to rank heroes for the question you care about – and date the result.

How many heroes are in Deadlock?

44 after the City Never Sleeps update: 38 existing heroes plus Rat King, Baba, Deadman Danny, Nurse Harrow, Solomon and Violet. The new heroes unlock in a player-voted order between October 2 and October 20, 2026.

Is Deadlock free and fully released?

Deadlock has no official release date yet and is still in early development. Access is through friend invites on Steam from existing players; there is no purchase price, and legitimate invites never ask for your Steam password.

How do I use the Deadlock tier list maker?

All heroes start in the pool below the tiers. Drag each one into S, A, B, C or D, or tap a hero and then a tier. Rename the list at the top, add new heroes with the add field, and download the finished board as a PNG to share it.

Can I change the tiers or make several lists?

Yes. Rename the list for each version – for example one for lane phase and one for late game – and reset the board to start a new ranking with the full roster.
