Candeia

Candeia is a calm pixel-art platformer by Moon Cartridge, free on itch.io since October 2026. You play the lamplighter of a small village: every evening you walk the street lighting lamps, each lamp plays a musical note and wakes up the windows around it, and once the whole street glows you sit on a bench and watch the night go by. There are seven different nights plus an epilogue, and there is no way to lose – no enemies, no countdown. The developer says every pixel and every sound is generated by the game's own code, and it plays in English or Portuguese.

Press the play button above and choose "Run game". Walk with the left/right arrow keys or A and D. Press Space, E or the up arrow to light a lamp (or to sit once the street is lit), and the down arrow or S to sit on the bench. You can also click or tap a lamp to walk to it and light it, and tap the bench to sit. Esc or P pauses and M toggles the sound. With a gamepad, the stick or D-pad walks, A lights or sits, X or down sits, and Start pauses.

Each evening has its own place and twist: an autumn canal, a rainy street where you have to shelter your flame, a foggy harbour, a market with music and fireworks, a summer garden full of fireflies, a snowy night and a climb to the church bells. Rain and wind can blow out your flame – relight it at any lamp you've already lit or another warm light source. A cat appears along the way; if you meet it, it may join you on the bench.

Light the lamps in order along the street so you always have a lit lamp nearby when the wind picks up. Don't rush: the game has a gentler pace option, saves your progress, and offers volume settings and full screen. Sitting on the bench is the point of each night, so take a moment once the street is glowing.
