METALQUEST

METALQUEST is a heavy-metal themed 2D platformer by Bradley Hall, a YouTuber and guitarist, made in GameMaker and posted free on itch.io in October 2026. It's openly an extremely early demo: the developer released it as a proof of concept to show potential collaborators. Of the three levels, level 2 is the most finished, while levels 1 and 3 are still mostly placeholder. The developer tags the project as made without AI.

Press the play button above and then "Run game" on itch.io; it runs in the browser with nothing to install. The developer hasn't listed the controls on the game page, so check the start screen – most GameMaker platformers use the arrow keys or WASD to move and a key such as Space or Z to jump.

Treat it as a first look rather than a finished game. If you only have a few minutes, go to level 2, which the developer describes as the most polished. Levels 1 and 3 show the structure of the game but are still mostly placeholder. Because it's a work in progress, the developer's itch.io page is the place to follow new versions and leave feedback.
