BloodBuild

BloodBuild is a gothic, pixel-art roguelike deck-builder by Inative Studio, made with the LÖVE engine and published on itch.io on September 22, 2026. The twist is in its tagline: collecting items is easy, making them work together is the actual game. Over a run you pick up items and arrange them so that they amplify one another, and you carry skills that change the rules of your whole build rather than adding one more effect. Runs are turn-based and single-player, and like any roguelike, each run starts fresh. The version on itch.io is a demo; the developer says the full game is in development. You can play it free in your browser here or download the Windows build from itch.io.

BloodBuild is turn-based, so there is no time pressure: read what each item does before you place it. The developer's page does not list exact controls; the game is played with the mouse and its in-game prompts explain each screen.

Think of every item as part of an engine rather than a stat boost on its own. The goal of each run is to find a few pieces that multiply each other and then pick items that feed that combination. Skills are the big swing: because they rewrite the rules of the build, one good skill can turn ordinary items into a strong combo, so plan around the skill you have.

Bosses in BloodBuild are designed to undo whatever has been working for you. Don't pour everything into a single trick – keep at least one second way to deal damage or survive. When a boss shuts down your main combo, note which part it countered and build around that weakness on the next run. Losing a run is part of the loop: each attempt teaches you which items actually combine well.
